SUMMER READING
A proposed list of books for the summer. Recommendations are welcome.
The Road, Cormac McCarthy
Siddhartha, Hermann Hesse
Naked Lunch, William S. Burroughs
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Hunter S. Thompson
Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way, Bruce Campbell
The Catcher in the Rye, J.D. Salinger
The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Stephen Chbosky
I am somewhat ashamed that I didn’t read the last two books on the list while in high school, as most everyone else did. It is never too late, though, as “they” say.
About The Road, I don’t usually like to read the book before watching the movie, because then the movie won’t disappoint me, but I’ve heard too many good things to wait until it comes out. On the top of my birthday wishlist right now is Bruce Campbell’s book, so, as a fair warning, I will be quoting that book for about one month after finishing it.
